Free Data - GIS Place Names
We know that many users are always on the look out for free place name point files. In respond to the demand for these data,
we've recently made available (for free download) a number of point files of world place name locations. Included in the files are,
names and locations of topographic features, populated places, islands, hydrographic features, mountains, peaks, and more.
Data Available in our Free Place name files include:
- Canada (22,000 places in SHP format)
- India (36,000 places in SHP format)
- UK (30,000 places in SHP format)
- Serbia (28,000 places in SHP format)
- Croatia (27,000 places in SHP format)
- Italy (33,000 places in SHP format)
- Greece (38,000 places in SHP format)
- Mexico (90,000 places in SHP format)
- World Places (13,000 places in SHP and MIF format)
