Autodesk OnSite




OnSite, the outcome of a partnership bewteen Autodesk and Oracle, is an end-to-end enterprise business system that delivers interactive map and design information to a mobile workforce.

OnSite technology, allows users to capture information in the field by drawing on the mobile device screen and adding text to the new features. When synched, these notes and redlines typically update a corporate database.

At this year's annual Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA) conference, Autodesk is helping conference attendees by offering them a free interactive, live map of the conference floor plan. Attendees will have complete conference floor plan, exhibition, and presentation details accessible to them via their PDA.

Autodesk Onsite runs on Palm Vx mobile devices running Palm OS 3.3. For WinCE users, OnSite requires either Fujitsu PenCentra 130, Symbol PPT 2700, and WinCE2.11. Requirements of the OnSite servlet technolgy are as follows:
- Pentium-based PC
- 128 MB RAM
- MapGuide 4
- Windows NT Server 4.0
- MS Internet Information Server 4.0
- Allaire JRun
