News from any node - Visitors to the GeoCommunity enter from several nodes. In the past, those entering the portal via the Data Depot or Software section may not have been aware of the industry news headlines. We've now set up scripts that enable us to post news faster and immediately have it updated on the front pages of all the main section. Visiotrs are now getting more content and companies sending us news are getting many more eyes on their updates.

Career Center - Over the past year the Career Center has become one of our most popular features. We've addressed this by rolling out a separate site accessible from everywhere else in the Community. We've built better mechanisms for posting and displaying jobs and resumes and traffic has surged as a result. Several options are now available for job posting in order to provide the best option for users and to get maximum exposure. Or new 'premium' announcement provides top billing for your career announcement and gets your announcement listed on the main page as well as in our daily news wire which is sent out to more than 11,000 GIS professionals. Resume posting is free and there's now a career focussed discussion board as well. The resource area provides loads of links to other employment resources and serves up employment focussed feature articles and surveys.

Specialty Channels - We've gathered content from the most popular topics and built specialty "channels". Content for channels includes news, feature articles, events, downloads, and links, all of which are specific to the topic of the channel selected. Channel topics include ArcView, GPS, Mobile, CAD, and WebMapping. Discussions - We've replaced our Forums with a new discussion board. This is an excellent way to get help or share your feelings about something with the rest of the GIS community.

MarketPlace - We've conveniently put all of our 'commerce' in one handy place. The MarketPlace boasts a newly re-stocked bookstore with hundreds of titles available for sale and a Data store where users can quickly purchase GIS data bundlesand get access to special data sale items.
