SPATIAL EVENTS

Geonetcom
The Geonetcom on-line seminar series is still going strong. On Tuesday January 11 Mr. Daniel Richards of Paul and Company, Atlanta, GA, presented an interesting seminar on GIS/Mapping for Telecom. He demonstrated a Mapguide application used to manage telecommunication towers and antennas. In addition to this, he gave us a tour of The Barrow County Internet Mapping system. Both of these systems were developed by Pond and Company. Pond & Company is a full-service, multi-disciplined architecture and engineering consulting firm serving corporate, industrial, government, telecommunications, and transportation clients throughout the U.S. and internationally. For more information about Pond & Company, call Martha Carnahan, director of corporate communications, at 404.633.8998, or visit the company’s web site: www.pondco.com.

On Tuesday January 18 GeonetCom hosted a seminar titled "Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management". The presenter was Mr. Marcelo Jury of Sigba S.A., Buenos Aries, Argentina. The demonstration showed us how they accomplish 24 hour a day vehicle tracking using ORPCOMM satellite, GPS data and Mapguide software. You can access the Mapguide demo at the following url http://www.tracksat.com.ar/ or request additional info from mjury@impsat1.com

The complete Geonetcom schedule is available for viewing at our GeonetCom Section. Check it out as there's likely a seminar coming up that will appeal to your interests.
