Future of GenaMap GIS Secured
The future of the GenaMap software
suite is assured following a management buyout of the intellectual property
(IPR) rights by senior managers of Genasys' International Sales Team. Led
by Tony Adams and Simon Thompson, the new company will be put into place
to reinforce and grow the GenaMap product suites' share of world-wide markets.
Whilst in charge of the Europe, Africa, Middle East region, Tony and Simon
led the company to profitable growth and successes in all of the major
spatial markets.
GenaMap and its related products will
be developed and supported by a newly formed company, GenaWarehouse, which
is headquartered in the UK. The company has secured the IPR to all Genasys
spatial products and has established distributor and business partnerships
across the globe. Access to both institutional and private financial backing
ensures the growth and future prosperity of GenaWarehouse business activities.
GenaWarehouse will make considerable
investment in product development and will continue work to support, maintain
and improve both the existing and emerging product lines. GenaWarehouse
has secured the core of the product development unit that has developed
GIS products for the past ten years and will invest in the emerging Internet
and component based product lines. The GenaWarehouse management team has
a combined experience of over 50 years in information systems and spatial
technologies.
GenaWarehouse will focus its immediate
attention on the needs of the GenaMap client base and the support of ongoing
projects. This will be backed up by a forthcoming revision of GenaMap and
associated products. In the US GenaWarehouse will strengthen and develop
the marketing and support facilities for GenaMap users through a continued
and expanding relationship with Camber Corporation.
GenaMap is recognised as one of the
industries most powerful and flexible GIS solutions. As the world's first
open spatial platform, GenaMap has a history of first and product innovations.
In particular, GenaMap pioneered the support of an open API, open data
interchange formats, interactive GUI development, distributable processing
and atomic systems architecture. The experience gained from the success
of GenaMap and its integration in mission critical and commercial solutions,
has provided the basis for the design and development of the new product
suite Nova Vista, due for commercial launch later this year.
