SPATIAL WEBMASTER TIPS:
This is the section where I give away some of my favorite
web marketing tools and other tips.
RPM Information network maintains a ranking system of GIS
related websites. http://www.rpmconsulting.com/webstats.html
Although it could be considered somewhat subjective, the
ranking does give an indication of the relative popularity
of some well known GIS websites. There is a possibility that
some popular websites are not listed here, as I believe you
need to request that your website be included in the survey.
I am somewhat curious as to how the number of links in are
calculated. For example, using the Infoseek search engine,
if you search on the following:
Link:http://spatialnews.geocomm.com you are told there are 9
documents found. What this means is that Infoseek has only
found 9 websites that are linking to SpatialNews.com.
Curious as I have visited over 50 websites that have
provided links to this site! This may indicate, however,
that only 9 of these sites are registered with Infoseek.
It is an interesting resource and the rankings change
monthly.

I often see questions from people wanting to know how to get
ArcInfo data converted to DFX and vice-versa. Here's a
pointer to a site where you can do it on-line over the web.
A handy utility for those who don't have access to their own
conversion utilities.
Simply go to the following:
http://www.geo.ed.ac.uk:81/~anp/public/pdxf.htm
Select ArcDXF to convert to DXF
or
Select DXFArc to create an Arc coverage from a DXF file
